The Prodigy has announced their first US headline tour since lead singer Keith Flint died.

The gig will take place on 14 April in San Francisco, and will happen after they play at Coachella.

This marks the first show the band will play in the US since the Firestarter singer died in 2019, aged 49. His death was ruled as a suicide.

"We are buzzed to be playing live in the USA again," the band wrote on their Instagram page. "We've always loved doing shows there."

In December last year, the electronic music band played a tour in the UK, and performed at Reading and Leeds Festivals.

They admitted it took a long time for them to even consider performing after Keith's death.

"After losing Keith we couldn't even think or talk about the band," said keyboarder and songwriter Liam Howlett.

"I think it was two years after his death that me and Maxim started bringing it up. 'Could we play live again? Did we even want to? Why? How?' All that s**t."

He continued, "We realised the only possible real way to know how we would feel was to do it: get back on stage and do a bunch of gigs. It was so hard to walk onto that stage without our brother, but we really felt the crowd with us. Those gigs were highly emotionally-charged but we came out the other end with our answer."
