The nominations for The BRIT Awards 2025 with Mastercard were today revealed exclusively in ‘Bring on The BRITs with Mastercard: The 2025 Nominations’, a half-hour digital programme streamed across The BRITs’ official Instagram and Facebook. Host Sian Welby brought viewers the live announcement of the shortlists, alongside some special appearances from nominees.
The winners will be announced during the live show on Saturday 1st March at The O2 arena, broadcast exclusively on ITV1 and ITVX and hosted by Jack Whitehall. The award this year has been designed by multi-disciplinary artist Gabriel Moses.
The winners of the five genre awards will be determined by a public vote exclusively through WhatsApp, which will open on Friday 31st January at 12 midday and close on Friday 14th February at 6pm.
To vote, fans can head to the BRITs WhatsApp channel or BRITs socials, to begin the vote on WhatsApp from Friday 31st January at midday. Further information on the vote can be found at brits.co.uk/vote.
From ‘brat’ to BRITs: Charli xcx earns the most nominations of any artist this year, with five nominations for Artist of the Year, Mastercard Album of the Year, Song of the Year with Mastercard, Dance Act and Pop Act.
Having opened last year’s BRITs ceremony, seven-time BRIT winner Dua Lipa is this year nominated for four awards; Pop Act which she won in 2024, as well as Artist of the Year, Mastercard Album of the Year and Song of the Year with Mastercard. Also up for Mastercard Album of the Year are The Last Dinner Party - last year’s BRITs Rising Star winners, who also receive four nominations this year (with Group of the Year, Best New Artist and Alternative / Rock Act making up their four). 2023 Mercury Prize recipients Ezra Collective now make their BRITs debut with four nominations in the same categories.
This year’s BRITs Rising Star winner Myles Smith, whose award was announced at the end of last year, is now also nominated in three main awards categories: Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Pop Act. The Cure receive their first BRIT nominations in over 30 years with three; Mastercard Album of the Year, Alternative / Rock Act and Group of the Year - the latter category alongside The Last Dinner Party, Ezra Collective, Coldplay (who are also up for Song of the Year), and Bring Me The Horizon, who won this award in 2024.
Another landmark nomination goes to The Beatles, who are shortlisted for Song of the Year for their historic single ‘Now & Then’, nearly 50 years since their last BRIT nomination at the inaugural BRIT Awards in 1977.
Other British artists up for multiple awards this year include: Beabadoobee, Central Cee, Chase & Status, Fred again.., JADE, Nia Archives, Michael Kiwanuka, Rachel Chinouriri, Sam Fender.
The BRITs International categories this year sees some debut nominations for the likes of Amyl & The Sniffers and Confidence Man in International Group of the Year, as well as Benson Boone, Adrianne Lanker and Asake in International Artist of the Year. Several international artists are recognised twice in this year’s shortlists in both International Artist and International Song of the Year with Billie Eilish, Beyoncé, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, and additional nods for Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, Eminem and Teddy Swims across the two categories.
The winners of Songwriter of the Year and Producer of the Year will be revealed over the coming weeks, along with other show announcements.

The BRITs Voting Academy, responsible for determining the shortlists and the overall winners for The BRIT Awards (bar Rising Star, Songwriter and Producer awards which are voted on or decided by separate panels), is refreshed annually, drawing on updated member data, to ensure relevance and diversity across its participants. The Voting Academy is composed of approx. 1300 individuals drawn from across the music industry, including artists, managers, media, producers, publishers, record labels, retailers and more. For 2025, The Voting Academy achieved a balanced split of men and women and included a number of members who identified as non binary or who preferred not to specify their gender, whilst around a quarter of its members identified as Black, Asian or ethnic minority background. The Academy and the voting process is overseen by Civica – an independent voting scrutineer.
The BRIT Awards 2025 with Mastercard will take place on Saturday 1st March - once again taking place on a Saturday in a primetime TV slot - and will broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX - from The O2 arena. It was announced last week that Jack Whitehall will host the main show. Harriet Rose and Munya Chawawa will present The BRITs 2025: The Warm-Up on ITV2 and ITVX on Thursday 27th February from 9pm.
Mastercard will be celebrating their headline sponsorship which is now in its 27th year; ITV remain as official broadcaster for the 32nd year, and The O2 arena will host The BRITs for its 14th year.
These long-standing partnerships will continue to support and amplify The BRITs’ vision and values, as the event maintains its fundraising for The BRIT Trust, the charitable arm of the awards, which gives grants to charities around the UK that draw on the power of music to promote education and well-being and improve lives, including The BRIT School and Nordoff and Robbins.
