One Direction are reportedly in talks to reunite for a "special tribute" to the late Liam Payne at the 2025 BRIT Awards.

The singer died after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina last October. He was 31.

Following Liam's tragic passing, editors at The Sun have reported that producers for the BRIT Awards are to honour his memory with a segment during the upcoming ceremony.

Citing music industry sources, they also claimed that Liam's former bandmates - Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson - could take to the stage together for the first time since they went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.

"The tribute to Liam at this year's awards show has caused a real buzz and speculation that the remaining One Direction bandmates could finally come back together again on stage," the insider claimed. "It would be an entirely fitting way to honour Liam and talks are already under way about how to make this segment of the Brits unforgettable."

The outlet also reported that the potential tribute to Liam will include performances, a photo montage, and a live orchestra.

"Liam loved the BRIT Awards and attended and performed many times over the years, both with One Direction and as a solo artist, and will forever be part of the show's history," they added. "As well as the possibility of the One Direction lads being involved, other stars from the industry will be on hand to remember Liam on the night."

Representatives for the artists and the BRIT Awards have not responded to the report.

The last time Harry, Niall, Zayn, and Louis were seen together was at Liam's funeral in November.

The 2025 BRIT Awards will be held at The O2 Arena in London on 1 March.
