Gracie Abrams has defended her upcoming tour opener Dora Jar after a fan started a petition calling for her replacement.
After Dora was announced as Gracie's opening act for her upcoming European tour, a fan created a Change.org petition calling for Dora to be replaced by "a more well-known, energetic artist or band".
The Close To You singer subsequently came to Dora's defence over the "wildly uncool" petition in an Instagram comment over the weekend.
"Just hearing about this absolute ridiculousness... so wildly uncool and bizarre and also just does not remotely add up," Gracie wrote. "I've only seen everyone's total excitement and I couldn't be luckier or prouder to share a stage with this talented wonder. Stream everything she's ever made whether or not you're coming to the show. Dora forever and ever."
The Grammy nominee doubled down by sharing a screengrab of her comment on her Instagram Stories and writing, "Hi reiterating this and then dropping it. I am so excited to share a stage with this gem of an artist. Love you Dora."
The up-and-coming singer, real name Dora Jarkowski, also reacted to the since-deleted petition, telling her X followers that it "doesn't bum (her) out" and she's excited to perform for "music loving open hearted fans".
Gracie's The Secret of Us tour kicks off in Madrid, Spain on 8 February and wraps up in Glasgow, Scotland on 12 March.
The 25-year-old, who is the daughter of director J.J. Abrams, received a huge career boost as a tour opener herself. She supported Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour for various dates in 2023 and 2024.
