Kanye West has revealed that his wife Bianca Censori helped him with his autism diagnosis.

The 47-year-old rapper has claimed his controversial behaviour is a result of his autism.

During an appearance on Tuesday's episode of Justin LaBoy's The Download podcast, Kanye, also known as Ye, explained that he went to the doctor after his wife, 30, questioned his initial diagnosis of bipolar disorder.

"My wife took me because she said, 'Something about your personality doesn't feel like it's bipolar, I've seen bipolar before,'" Kanye said. "And come to find out, it's really a case of autism that I have."

In 2016, the Stronger rapper revealed he had been diagnosed with bipolar after suffering a "psychiatric emergency".

However, he has now explained that his new diagnosis explains his past behaviour.

"You're like, 'Oh man, I'm gonna wear this (Donald) Trump hat 'cause I just like Trump in general," Kanye said. "And when people tell you to not do it...and that's my problem, when fans tell me to do my album a certain way, I'll do it the opposite way."

The artist then admitted that his loved ones have found it difficult to help him.

"It's so difficult for them because this is like a grown man, you can't tell him," Kanye said. "You can't take control of his bank account. You can't control what I'm saying on Twitter."

Elsewhere in the conversation, the rapper said he doesn't take medication because he doesn't want to lose his creative spark.

"I haven't taken the medication since I found out it wasn't bipolar, that it wasn't the right diagnosis," he told the podcast host. "It's finding stuff that doesn't block the creativity, obviously that's what I bring to the world. It's worth the ramp up, as long as y'all get the creativity."

Kanye's comments come days after he and his wife caused a stir at the 2025 Grammys when Bianca walked the red carpet in a completely see-through dress and no underwear.
