Liam Payne's ex speaks out in bombshell interview

Liam Payne's former fiancée has spoken out in a bombshell interview with Rolling Stone.

Maya Henry has claimed the One Direction singer's substance abuse caused their breakup, in a bombshell interview with Rolling Stone.

"Initially, it was the drug use and addictions that tore us apart," the model, 23, told the outlet.

"Anyone who has been with an addict understands how difficult that is. While I loved him deeply, he did things that hurt me in ways I'll never fully understand, and he continued to hurt me years after we broke up."

Liam and Maya dated for three years until ending their engagement in 2022. In 2024, he died after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

An additional source reportedly told Rolling Stone Maya had no idea of the seriousness of her fiancé's addiction problems until shortly before they broke up, but that he often used hard drugs.

"It was normal for Liam to do cocaine, ketamine, MDMA, and pharmaceutical pills," the source was quoted as saying. "Then he got into smoking heroin."

Maya went on to explain she was aware Liam had personal demons he was unable to manage.

"I knew there were parts of himself he was struggling with," she said. "Parts of his identity he wasn't ready to fully face, even within our relationship."
