Grimes urges people 'to stop posting images' of her son
Grimes has implored people "to stop posting images" of her and Elon Musk's eldest child.
Earlier this month, the tech billionaire brought their four-year-old son X AE A-XII to a press conference with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.
The youngster's behaviour - including making faces or grabbing at his father - prompted pictures and videos of him to go viral on social media.
Grimes, real name Claire Boucher, has now asked people to stop posting images of their child online, insisting he's too young to consent to being a famous person.
"I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere. I think fame is something you should consent to," she told Time in an interview. "Obviously, things will just be what they are. But I would really, really appreciate that. I can only ask, so I'm just asking."
After her son's public appearance at the Oval Office, the Canadian musician revealed on social media that she didn't know about it in advance and seemingly criticised her ex Musk for bringing him to a press event.
"He should not be in public like this," she wrote at the time.
During the Time interview, Grimes addressed the headlines her response generated, saying, "It was like, 'Grimes slams,' 'Grimes speaks out.' It's like, OK, it was a reply (to another X user)."
Grimes dated the 53-year-old Tesla and SpaceX CEO on and off from 2018 to 2022. They have two other children; daughter Exa Dark Siderael and son Techno Mechanicus.
Last week, she used Musk's platform X to call on him to "respond" to her messages about their child's "medical crisis". She did not divulge further details about the situation.
