Cassie has hit back at claims by Sean 'Diddy' Combs that some key CCTV footage has been destroyed.
Troubled music mogul Combs, 55, is currently behind bars awaiting trial after being charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution - which he has furiously denied.
Prior to his 2024 arrest for those charges, Combs had been accused of abusing former girlfriend Cassie - full name Cassie Ventura, 38 - who he dated from 2007 until 2018.
In May 2024, after Combs had seemingly rebuffed claims made by his ex, CNN obtained and aired footage of the Last Night singer violently attacking Cassie, leading him to issue a public apology.
The footage has been tipped to be included in Combs's upcoming trial, which is due to begin in May, but his team claimed on Thursday that CNN had destroyed the footage.
However, Cassie's lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, swiftly rebuffed the rapper's claim, telling TMZ, "(It's not surprising Combs) would make a disingenuous argument to exclude the disturbing video from being shown to the jury in the upcoming trial."
Wigdor added, "I am confident that the video fairly and accurately represents what happened, will be admitted into evidence... (and Combs) will be held accountable for his depravity."
Combs's team have sensationally claimed that CNN doctored the footage that was aired in May 2024 and alleges the news network then destroyed the original tapes.
The music star's trial is due to begin on 5 May and he has already pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
