Tina Knowles announces tour to back Matriarch memoir

Beyoncé's mum has announced she will be touring to promote her new memoir, including An Evening With Tina Knowles in London.

Knowles announced the news on her Instagram page with a flyer of upcoming events.

The tour starts on 30 April with a session in Washington DC moderated by former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Knowles will then travel across North America in an eight-show trek, ending the tour in London on 4 June.

"I'm so excited to take Matriarch on the road and extend the conversation beyond the pages," Knowles shared in a statement.

"Storytelling has always been a part of who I am - something I learned from my mother - and now, at 71, I finally understand who I truly am.

"This journey has been about strength, motherhood, family pride and identity, and I hope these conversations help others embrace their own stories and celebrate the power of knowing what we deserve."

Back in October, the mother of the pop icon announced her new book, titled Matriarch: A Memoir, with a synopsis billing it as "a multi-generational family saga that carries within it the story of America - and the wisdom that women pass on to each other, mothers to daughters, across generations".
