Lil Nas X has revealed that he came close to working with Taylor Swift but their collaboration fell through.

The Old Town Road hitmaker revealed to E! News that the pop superstar offered him the opportunity to sing a verse on one of her songs but the "vibe" of the track didn't work for him so he turned it down.

"We were working on something," he shared. "She offered to let me try a verse on something, but I couldn't catch a vibe for it, so it didn't happen."

While that particular song didn't work out, Lil Nas hopes to collaborate with the Shake It Off singer in the future, adding, "When it happens... Global. World. Tay-tay and Nassy."

He noted that he is grateful Taylor thought about him for her song and has no hard feelings towards her about the failed collaboration.

"I'm proud of my girl," he said. "I love the album. She's been doing her thing. She's at the very tippety top. I'm thankful that she even considered me."

Over the course of her career, the 35-year-old has collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Future, Ice Spice and Haim.

For her most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, Taylor worked with Post Malone on the lead single, Fortnight, and Florence and the Machine on the track Florida!!!
