Mark Hoppus has recalled how he once went on an "awful" first date with Melissa Joan Hart.
In a preview of his upcoming memoir, Fahrenheit-182, obtained by People, the Blink-182 co-founder recounts the time he took the Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress out for sushi at a restaurant in the San Fernando Valley, California in the late 1990s.
The pair had met at the Teen Choice Awards, and while Hart's publicist set up the date, neither party felt any romantic chemistry.
"It was an awful date. She was very nice, but we weren't connecting. Everything in her life revolved around acting and it was hard to relate to her about anything else," he writes.
Mark went on to admit that he had little in common with Melissa.
"I'm sure from her perspective, all I could talk about was music," the 53-year-old continues. "We just weren't a good match. It was tough."
But while it didn't work out with Melissa, when he returned to his hotel room, Mark listened to a voicemail he had received from Skye Everly.
Though the MTV talent executive had initially rejected the rocker's advances, the pair ended up chatting for two hours that evening.
Mark and Skye married in December 2000 and are parents to son Jack, 22.
Meanwhile, Melissa tied the knot with musician Mark Wilkerson in 2003, with the couple later welcoming three sons.
The Melissa & Joey star has not yet commented on Mark's story.
Fahrenheit-182, in which the rockstar delves into his life, career, and cancer battle, goes on sale on Tuesday.
