Smith Entertainment Law Group, a premier boutique entertainment law firm with offices in New York and Los Angeles, is thrilled to announce the addition of Lynn Elliot, Esq. as Senior Counsel. A seasoned attorney with extensive experience across film, television, music, live events, and new media, Elliot’s hiring underscores SELG’s commitment to providing top-tier legal services to the entertainment industry’s most innovative creators and companies.
Elliot brings a wealth of expertise to SELG, having worked on hundreds of independent films, documentaries, and unscripted programs, including the Sundance Documentary Audience Award-winning Alive Inside, and acclaimed projects such as Precious and The Rachel Zoe Project. Her client roster spans film and television producers, screenwriters, directors, actors, musicians, music managers, and live event promoters, among others. Prior to joining SELG, Elliot served as Associate General Counsel at Dayglo Presents, where she handled legal matters for New York based music promoter Peter Shapiro and his various ventures, including Brooklyn Bowl, The Capitol Theatre, and Relix Magazine.
In her new role, Elliot will focus on structuring deals, negotiating agreements, providing risk assessment, handling labor and employment transactional work, and guiding business operations for SELG’s clients. Her impressive background in both music and entertainment law, including her studies at Ithaca College Film School, UCLA Writing for Television Program, and Antioch University Clinical Psychology Master’s Program, uniquely positions her to address both the creative and legal needs of her clients.
“Lynn’s addition to the SELG team is a tremendous asset for our firm,” says Kerry Smith, founder and managing partner of Smith Entertainment Law Group. “Her incredible breadth of experience in entertainment law and her passion for supporting creative visionaries will further elevate the comprehensive services we offer to our clients. We’re excited to work alongside Lynn as SELG continues to expand and thrive.”
“I’m beyond excited to join Smith Entertainment Law Group,” says Elliot. “Kerry has built an impressive roster of clients—leaders in film and television entertainment and production. I’m looking forward to growing SELG with Kerry and the stellar SELG team.”
