Last night, Pelle and Niklas Almqvist from The Hives joined The Evening Show with Dan O'Connell on Radio X.

Pelle and Niklas Almqvist from Swedish rock band The Hives told Dan O’Connell on Radio X last night that going on tour with the Rolling Stones inspired them to ditch their plan to split up, after the band agreed they would call it quits after making three records!

Niklas Almqvist – NA
Dan O’Connell – DOC

DOC: “I wanted to start with the album, because this is album number seven.”

PA: “A difficult, important seventh album. Yeah.”

DOC: “The Hives Forever Forever The Hives. Now, I want to pull you up on something, because you said after three albums, a long time ago, that The Hives would be no more. So, how have we ended up here? Pelle, we’ll come to you.”

PA: “I think for me, we toured with the Rolling Stones, and they seemed to be having so much fun that we were like, ‘Yeah, why would we deny ourselves this in the future?’ And also, I think the whole reason for not only making three albums and then splitting was that we didn't think any band had made more than three good albums in a row. And then we started liking the fourth one of some bands.”
