Singer/songwriter Joe Brooks is on track to sell out his debut tour without the help of a label, publisher or even a commercially available CD. His London and Birmingham dates sold out almost a month prior to the start of the tour and the rest of the dates are on track to sell out soon, with over two weeks still to go.
Credit a rabid online following for this 21 year-old singer-songwriter from Southampton. His nearly 12 million plays have made him the #1 unsigned artist from the UK on MySpace for over a year, with over 100,000 “friends” and a sizeable presence elsewhere on the Web.
The fact that his “virtual” audience has now translated into actual sales has raised industry eyebrows on both sides of the Atlantic, but Joe remains a “DIY” story for now, continuing his online campaign from his bedroom and rehearsing with his band in preparation for the tour. With his pitch-perfect voice, uplifting lyrics and youthful spirit, Joe continues to win over fans one by one.
