Chas & Dave, (aka Charles Hodges and David Peacock to their mothers) joined forces in the early 1970s and have become a part of the English establishment. Known for their wit and droll in songs about life in London, these likely-lads are playing at Proud on Monday June 22nd.
They are the creators of ‘Rockney’; an infectious musical style, it mixes pub sing-along, vaudeville, boogie-woogie piano and pre-Beatles rock’n’roll. Their novelty pop-rock music adding to the rich vaults of Cockney heritage.
This rare performance in London means Proud Camden, with its rich musical legacy is the perfect setting for this home-coming gig. The quintessentially English musicians even count The Libertines as fans, whose band members have graced Proud’s stages too.
With support from King and Country whose instrumental spectacle consists of drums, percussion, double bass, brass, strings, guitar and inimitable vocals. Celebrity Chimp consists of Andy McKay and Tom Smith who entertain with snipping, wit and wisdom. 5 Working Days are a five piece band based in the South-East London suburbs, who play a mix of feel good melodies and catchy riffs.
Expect a time-honoured shindig and emblems of Blighty, as Chas & Dave rock the stables.
