Legendary British rock & roll band The Godfathers celebrate 25 years since their formation in ’85 with a very special birthday show at London’s historic 100 Club on Thursday June 17th and also confirm details of the release of brand new material, scheduled for October 2010.
The Godfathers’ landmark 25th anniversary show at the 100 Club falls on the exact date of the band’s first ever gig at London’s Embassy Club on June 17th 1985.
Garage rockers The Fabulous Penetrators have been confirmed as special guests.
The London band are now expecting to see a release of brand new material during the coming Autumn, most likely in the form of an EP/downloads with further EP releases and a full album coming in 2011. A taster of the new material has been showcased in The Godfathers set during their shows this year, and has gone down a storm.
Extensive UK, European and Scandinavian dates are being scheduled for October/November 2010 to coincide with the EP release of new material and full details will be announced shortly.
The Godfathers’ electrifying brand of primal rock & roll foreshadowed the Brit rock resurgence of the ‘90’s and has become increasingly influential in recent years with multi-million selling American acts Local H and Spoon releasing cover versions of Godfathers’ classics ‘Birth School Work Death’ and ‘This Damn Nation’.
