The Strokes triumph at IOW Festival

The Strokes struck gold at the IOW festival and we were all the richer for it. Julian Casablanca led the band in his inimitable way through many tracks from their wonderful first 2 albums ‘Is This It’ and ‘Room On Fire’ to an adoring crowd.

Highlights of the day included a blistering set from Bombay Bicycle Club who are destined to be a main stage act before long.

Vampire Weekend cheered the crowd no end with their joyful set whilst The Hold Steady, Devendra Banhart and Crowded House all deserve mentions for good and fun performances.

Blondie with Debbie Harry looking great helped everyone forget our England woes as everyone sang along to their hits.

Another sunny day expected with Macca closing the festival.
