Internet pranksters are doing their damnedest to get Justin Bieber to tour North Korea.
Genuine fans reacted to the news of Bieber’s first official headlining string of dates, the My World Tour, by setting up a poll to request the nations that would make up “Bieber’s World”.
While nothing is more reliable and persuasive as an internet poll, it seems internet trolls are doing their best to skew the votes.
After some mischievous message board campaigns, the top destination suggestion for Beiber is currently North Korea, with over 280,000 votes. Note that North Koreans aren’t actually permitted free access to the internet.
Sadly, the Beebster is in no way obliged to alter any of his touring plans because of an internet campaign (or, indeed, a counter-campaign). Also, it’s highly doubtful Kim Jong-Il would actually let the counter-revolutionary moppet pass through the DMZ.
Considering the Justin Bieber rumours soiling the internet currently – that he had syphilis, that his mother posed for Playboy, that he has joined a cult, that he is currently not alive – this prank is one of the more creative efforts.
