The Killers today announce two very special warm-up shows at Londonʼs Scala on June 22nd and 23rd. Their first UK dates in almost two years, these intimate shows will precede the Las Vegas bandʼs previously-announced headline show in Hyde Park (Hard Rock Calling) on June 24th.
Tickets for the Scala shows will be released to members of The Killersʼ fanclub, The Victims, before going on general sale on Tuesday June 14th.
The Killers last performed in the UK, in support of their million-selling third album, Day And Age, in 2009. Following six years of intensive touring, the Las Vegas band then decided to take 2010 off to recharge their batteries and explore other projects: Brandon Flowers released his solo album, Flamingo, which hit #1 on the UK charts last September; Ronnie Vannucci will shortly release his own record under the name Big Talk; and Mark Stoermer has been sitting in the producerʼs chair for the first time, producing Howling Bellsʼ upcoming album, as well as working on music of his own.
The band recently regrouped to begin writing together for their fourth studio album, and plan to celebrate with these special UK shows before embarking on further writing and recording sessions.
