Adele and Michael Buble are the two hot favourites to sing the theme to the next James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’.
Adele hinted in The Jonathan Ross Show last week that her next recording would be a theme for a movie but she refused to say which movie.
Michael Buble’s name has also been doing the rounds as a potential Skyfall theme vocalist.
Over the years there have been some high profile and not so high profile Bond themes. Some have been obvious. Some left of centre.
Shirley Bassey holds the record for the most Bond themes … three. (Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonracker).
The big hit ones were by Paul McCartney (Live and Let Die), Duran Duran (A View To A Kill), Carly Simon (Nobody Does It Better) and Madonna (Die Another Day).
The left of centre ones were ‘You Know My Name’ for Casino Royale by Chris Cornell, Jack White and Alicia Keys ‘Another Way To Die’ from Quantum of Solace, The World Is Not Enough by Garbage and The Living Daylights by A-Ha.
Skyfall will be the 23rd James Bond movie. It will premiere in London on October 26, 2012.
