Gwar have kept good their promise to continue their Canadian tour despite the death of their guitarist Cory Smoot.
Smoot was found dead in his bunker on the band’s tour bus as they approached the Canadian border on Thursday.
Gwar performed in Calgary on Saturday night and will kept the Vancouver date for tonight (November 7). They will also continue to perform at their US shows through until the end of November.
After the Calgary show they posted on Facebook, “Thanks Calgary for the great show and everyone else who has reached out to us in this terrible time”.
Smoot was 34-years old. The cause of death has not been announced.
On Facebook today they wrote, “There will be an announcement in the first half of this week regarding memorial services. There won’t be any other information until the medical report is done, and that may be a while. So keep sending your love to the family, and especially Jamie…she needs everything we can give her”.
