Rihanna’s manager wants her to continue to produce “new material”.
The Barbadian superstar is due to release her sixth studio album Talk That Talk later this month, following the huge success of Loud, which hit stores at the end of last year.
Rihanna’s manager Jay Brown – who has overseen the singer’s career since she signed as a youngster – insists the star needs to keep her music fresh to continually entertain fans.
"Kids want new material all the time," he told BBC News.
"I think you become disposable when you put out an album every three years."
Rihanna is an international superstar, having sold more the 20 million albums worldwide.
The 23-year-old beauty records new tracks in mobile studios as she tours. Jay says her passion for making music motivates her to keep producing new released.
"It's not like we force her," he explained.
"She goes into the studio because she likes it."
Despite understanding the need for new music, Jay insists quality still counts. The music pro thinks some artists’ albums have unnecessary long track lists.
"Nobody, when they're buying an album, wants to skip over tracks," he said.
"If there are too many songs, you dilute what you're trying to do."
