Magazine release first album in 30 years

Magazine were an arty band that came along at the time of post-punk, but they were even on the periphery of a genre that was already on the periphery of music. Now the band have returned with their first album since 1981, ‘No Thyself’.

The record comes complete with bizarre furry Cyclops-esque character on the cover and eleven new songs written by the whole band, with the exception of the first song ‘Do The Meaning’, which was written with front man Howard Devoto’s former Buzzcocks bandmate Pete Shelley.

Not appearing on the album is bass player Barry Adamson and the late guitarist John McGeoch, who died in 2004.

The album is available this Friday.
