Rihanna says Katy Perry was like “a breath of fresh air” when she first met her.
The pair have become firm friends after meeting on the music scene. Rihanna – who is famed for her raunchy stage performances - admires her fellow musician for her individuality. She says Katy is a joy to be around.
“Katy is a legend. I love her. When I met her she was like a breath of fresh air,” she gushed to Glamour magazine.
“She was everything I wanted to be. Katy goes on the stage as she wants. She dresses as she prefers and says what she wants. Now I do it too.”
Rihanna split from boyfriend Chris Brown after a heated argument led to him being charged with assault in 2009.
Rihanna fears she will never be able to leave the relationship behind her.
“I'm afraid I'll have to live with the gossip between me and Chris throughout my whole life,” she sighed.
Rihanna stars alongside Taylor Kitsch in upcoming film Battleship. The 23-year-old says the actor was a fabulous co-star.
“Taylor is great. I had never acted before then and I went on set with my fingers crossed. Even director Peter Berg was wonderful. I'd like to act again,” she mused.
