Jason Donovan is to release a new album on 12th March 2012 through Polydor Records. The as-yet-untitled album is Donovan’s sixth studio album in a distinguished recording career that has lasted almost a quarter of a century.
“It feels great to be going back in the studio,” says Donovan. “I know exactly how I want the new album to sound and I’m as excited as I’ve ever been about a record. I want to give a massive thank-you to my fans for all their support in 2011, here’s to a brilliant 2012!”
Jason Donovan has been responsible for a catalogue of hit singles, including four UK No. 1’s, and has sold millions of albums worldwide. As a musical theatre actor he has starred in many legendary West End productions, including Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sweeney Todd, and Priscilla Queen Of The Desert.
Donovan first shot to fame as an actor in 1986 when he took the role of Scott Robinson in the Australian TV soap Neighbours at the very height of its popularity. Most recently Donovan took part in the ninth series of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, where he was partnered with Kristina Rihanoff. The pair made it to last weekend’s final at Blackpool Tower Ballroom, finishing 3rd in the competition.
Donovan will be taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour which starts on 20th January at Birmingham National Indoor Arena.
