Céline Dion is thankful Beauty and the Beast helped “put her on the map”.

The singer performed the 1991 Disney classic’s theme tune and it helped introduce her to an international audience.

The animation has been remastered for a 3D release, prompting Céline to reflect on how it has shaped her career.

"It's an honour," Celine told ET Online. "This song gave me a name in a way. My songs were being played on the radio but people did not know who sings that song... When Beauty and the Beast was offered to me it put me on the map. It gave me a name."

The singer added that it feels “special” to introduce her own children to the movie that made her famous.

However, the pop diva lamented the fact that she rarely has time to go to the cinema and revealed how she juggles her many work commitments with motherhood.

“[I manage my schedule] one day at a time. I don’t really want to know what’s ahead because it’s a big schedule and a lot of shows. I’m a mum of three kids and when I’m at home I’m not trying to do it – I do it,” she said. “When I’m home, I’m home and I don’t want to hear what I’m doing tomorrow so much. I want to be ‘full time mummy’.”
