Sam Duckworth has been keeping himself busy as ever as Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly have announced the release of a new album, hot on the heels of last year’s solo Duckworth effort The Mannequin. The record, titled Maps, will be released through Cooking Vinyl on May 7th.

Maps sees GCWCF refine and focus the burgeoning ideas first addressed in 2010’s self titled third album. Album opener The Real McCoy is a straight up indie-pop belter that touches on a sound reminiscent of early Blur, a direction GCWCF were leaning towards in the previous record and is effectively realised in Maps. Another clear example of this is apparent in lead single Daylight Robbery, a tune that boasts an infectious sing along intro before breaking into a catchy up-tempo foot tapper.

Daylight Robbery will be available as a single from April 30th via Cooking Vinyl

The record also features guest vocals from acclaimed UK hip hop MC Jehst on The Long And Short Of It All. Maps is testament to Duckworth’s eclectic tastes yet maintains a narrative and never strays too far from his signature and acclaimed styles, an accomplishment that many musicians strive to achieve in their careers.
