Lenny Kravitz says Jennifer Lawrence is one of the “funniest” people he knows.
The two stars appear in the new movie The Hunger Games, which premiered in Los Angeles last night.
They knew each other before shooting began as Jennifer was in X-Men: First Class with Lenny’s daughter Zoë Kravitz. Lenny is thrilled to see how well Jennifer’s career is going.
“[Zoë and Jennifer] are very close. They made X-Men together, so I knew her from that experience. She would come to the house and visit,” he explained.
“We just sort of cooked breakfast and [hung] out and laughed. She’s extremely funny. She is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. She will make you laugh.”
The Hunger Games is based on a popular book and set in a world where young people fight to the death on TV, with Jennifer’s character Katniss one of those taking part.
Lenny portrays Cinna, who helps dress Katniss for the battle.
The actor didn’t have to audition for the part as director Gary Ross was so adamant he was the only person who could do the part justice.
“I was in the Bahamas, he called, said, ‘There’s this thing called Hunger Games. Do you know what it is?’ [I said], ‘No, I don’t,’” Lenny recalled to Access Hollywood.
“I had to find some internet to download a book so I could read it in my trailer at night. I couldn’t put it down.”
