Whitney Houston’s mother reportedly “cried hysterically” when she heard about the report into the star’s death.

The American singer passed away in a Los Angeles hotel room in February aged 48. It was found that she accidentally drowned in the bath tub, although it was also ruled that sustained cocaine use played a part in her death.

The coroner’s report stated a white powdery substance was found in the hotel room, along with a spoon with crystals on it and a rolled up bank note.

The late star’s mother Cissy has reportedly been left distraught by the news.

“Whitney Houston's mother is ‘devastated’ and ‘inconsolable’ over the L.A. County Coroner's Autopsy Report,” claims TMZ.

“Cissy Houston is telling close friends... she cried hysterically when she first heard about the Coroner's findings.”

Cissy is thought to be upset that the scandal surrounding her daughter’s passing will take attention away from her glittering career.

The late singer scored number one singles and albums all over the world and was renowned for her powerful voice. Her mom hopes that people will recall that in time and has even cherry picked what she believes was Whitney’s best performance.

She is proud of the way Whitney sang the US National Anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl.

“This is the type of thing people should remember Whitney for,” the site quotes Cissy as saying.
