Cheryl Cole realises that her music will "not rescue the world".
The singer knows her pop songs aren't life-changing records. The Girls Aloud star is happy knowing her music can put a smile on someone's face.
"The first single off my new record A Million Lights is Call My Name. It's a great dance number!" Cheryl exclaimed to German website Freundin.de. "My music may not rescue the world but it will always put you in a good mood."
Cheryl continued to reveal the songs that have a special meaning for her. Certain music has the power to change her mood and help her through tough times in her life.
"Mary J. Blige's song Just Fine is my feel good song. Mary's voice sounds so grown up and you can hear that she has experienced a lot in her life," Cheryl revealed. "Her songs help me with every heartache."
It was recently revealed that Cheryl is returning to UK X Factor, to help head judge Gary Barlow choose his final acts. Singing talent shows have a special place in Cheryl's heart as she was discovered after auditioning for reality contest Popstars and is a former X Factor judge.
“Growing up I was a true R'n'B girl but I was pretty alone with that," Cheryl explained. "When I went to the Popstars casting when I was 19 the judges didn't want to hear an R'n'B song but a pop song. The only one I knew was S Club's 7 Have You Ever! It all worked out in the end because I won and became a member of Girls Aloud."
