George Jones hospitalized again

Country legend George Jones has once again been hospitalized in Nashville.

Jones' publicist released the following statement:

Today, country music icon George Jones was admitted to a local Nashville hospital for observation. During a routine checkup, Mr. Jones was running a slight fever with irregular blood pressure.

This weekend’s shows in Atlanta, Ga. and Salem, Va. are postponed. Information on the rescheduling of these concerts will be available soon.

Jones is currently in the middle of The Grand Tour, what he says is his final tour before retiring. He has also been recording his final album with input from Dolly Parton.

Jones has had a rough time over the last few years starting with a broken wrist in 2006 and hospitalizations in January 2011, March 2012 and May 2012 and was forced to cancel shows because of illness last November.
