Paul McCartney played his first ‘Out There’ show of 2013 in Brazil last night with a revised setlist digging deep back to songs he had not played since The Beatles, if ever at all.
‘Eight Days A Week’, for example, was played for the second time ever by Sir Paul last night in Brazil. The last and only other time was with The Beatles in Birmingham in 1965.
‘Your Mother Should Know’ was played for the first time by McCartney at the show last night. The Beatles had stopped touring by the time it was released on the Magical Mystery Tour album.
It was the same story for ‘All Together Now’. The Beatles were no longer a live band when the song came out on the Yellow Submarine soundtrack. Last night’s performance was the first time the former Beatle had ever played the song live.
‘Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite’ from The Beatles Sgt Pepper album also made its live debut for Sir Paul. ‘Listen To What The Man Said’ had not been played live since Wings in 1976.
