Kanye West is apparently still putting the final touches to his new album.
The rapper has been spending a lot of time in Paris in recent months working on his sixth studio release, Yeezus. Although the record is due out in just a few weeks, Kanye is believed to be continuing to tinker with the track list.
“Chatter among music insiders is the rapper’s scrambling to add some consumer-friendly singles to the album,” reports New York Post.
Kanye recently performed the new tracks Black Skinhead and New Slaves on US TV show Saturday Night Live, and the material was met with mixed reviews.
However, sources close to the star insist he has no worries about how his album will be received when it is released on June 18.
“Kanye’s reworking so close to the release date is not in any response to any negative reaction,” an insider told the publication.
It has also been claimed that Kanye has been working with consultant Amy Thomson, who managed Swedish House Mafia, to boost his “marketing muscle”.
This will be Kanye’s first solo record since the critically acclaimed 2010 LP My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
He is apparently planning a worldwide tour in the fall to showcase the new material and it seems he is very happy with his offerings.
The rapper is said to have recently requested a preview of the tracks while shopping in New York. He took the record into a store and asked for it to be played while he was looking around.
“He sang along to some songs for a few shoppers,” a source said.
“Mr. West gave… a little taste of his new album at the store this morning. Nice way to start the day,” tweeted one of the staff at the shop.
