As Sam Duckworth puts the finishing touches to his new album ‘Amazing Grace’ he is thrilled to announce a headline slot at Glastonbury Festival.

After a tumultuous 2012, singer-songwriter Sam Duckworth returns with ‘Amazing Grace’; the most stripped-back and focused album of his career and his most accomplished work to date.

Best known under his Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly moniker, the Southend-born 27-year-old has been making records for nine years. Revered for his personal approach to songwriting and his relationship with his fans, it’s no surprise that Sam chose to finance his album through Pledge. ‘Amazing Grace’ is his second solo effort and is due for release this Autumn.

“The album is a collection of acoustic songs brought to life by a cast of friends,” Sam says. “I am so happy to have an album that represents me as I am now. Life at 27 is a bit more challenging, events and emotions are heightened with a few years on your back, both good and bad. I’ve tried my best to sum that up in 11 songs. Thankfully I’ve had the pleasure of roping in some of the best folk I know.”

Named after his studio space in East London, ‘Amazing Grace’ is an album full of surprises for Sam’s longest-standing fans and the perfect beginning point for anyone just discovering this endearing talent. Emanating a sense of triumph over a great deal of adversity, ‘Amazing Grace’ is without doubt the most perfect platform to show people what Sam Duckworth is capable of and has been promising for nearly a decade.

Having spent much of last year in and out of hospital, Sam has been away from the live scene for some time. He’s thrilled to return with a headline slot on the Leftfield Stage at this years’ Glastonbury Festival. Billed as ‘Amazing Grace Live!’, the performance will be a mixtape-esque set featuring acts of very different style, united through common ideals, based around the forthcoming album. Expect a vivid culture clash of folk, hip hop, post rock and punk combining to create a snapshot of dissenting voices from all over the UK. Featuring: Sam Duckworth, Sweet Billy Pilgrim, Jehst, Riz MC, Grace Petrie, Micall Parknsun, Rumour Cubes and some very special guests. Unique to Glastonbury 2013, Amazing Grace typifies the spirit of the Leftfield; radical, passionate and unpredictable!

Sam will then return home for a show with the Southend Youth Orchestra that will also feature the Tilbury Brass Band on 13th July.
