Paris Jackson’s doctors are reportedly advising she remain in treatment until her family’s wrongful death trial has commenced.
Michael Jackson’s 15-year-old daughter is believed to be undergoing psychiatric treatment at UCLA Medical Center after an apparent suicide attempt last month.
Recent reports suggested Paris had requested a transfer to a rehab facility in Utah out of the public eye.
That request was rejected amid fears the teenager’s presence would result in an “onslaught” of paparazzi, according to TMZ.
Radar Online now reports doctors at UCLA want her to be transferred into a psychiatric treatment facility where she would remain until August.
That is when the wrongful death suit her grandmother is waging against AEG Live is scheduled to end.
Apparently doctors would like to keep her shielded from sensational headlines resulting from ongoing testimony.
“It’s being recommended by her docs that she remain in treatment, and in a safe, controlled environment until the end of the wrongful death lawsuit ends,” a source said. “It’s a no brainer that Paris not have access to the internet, cell phones, and social media during the trial, since the horrific stuff she was reading about her dad pushed the teenager over the edge.”
Katherine Jackson filed the suit against concert promoting giant AEG on behalf of Michael’s three children.
The matriarch alleges executives were negligent in hiring and overseeing the singer’s former physician Conrad Murray, who was tasked with caring for Michael as he prepared for his comeback concert series.
Murray was convicted of administering the fatal dose of anaesthetic propofol that killed Michael in 2009.
He is currently serving a four-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter at a Los Angeles County jail.
Paris’ brother, Prince, testified in court last week.
His younger sister is said to want nothing to do with it.
“She was becoming extremely upset in the first few days at UCLA when the trial was brought up, and causing her severe anxiety,” an insider told Radar. “Paris will have to remain in a bubble until the trial is over so she won’t harm herself.”
The Jackson family has yet to comment to the latest claims regarding her treatment.
