Zayn Malik is engaged to Perrie Edwards, it has been confirmed.
Yesterday the Little Mix singer sent the rumour mill into overdrive when she hit the red carpet with Zayn for the world premiere of One Direction movie This Is Us wearing a sparkler on her ring finger.
Now her mother has broken the hearts of countless boyband fans by confirming the 20-year-old hunk has asked the blonde-haired star to marry him.
"Yes it's true. They got engaged on Sunday and it was absolutely lovely. It's wonderful because Zayn is absolutely gorgeous and Perrie loves him to pieces. It's perfect and they get on so well together and understand each other. It's just fabulous," Debbie Dufty told Real Radio.
Zayn and his One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne have been busy promoting their movie and their Take Me Home Tour.
The singer recently revealed he doesn't even have time to read while on tour, so spending downtime with Perrie was the perfect moment to propose.
“It was so romantic - Zayn popped the question over the weekend when they were alone together,” the insider told British newspaper The Mirror.
“It's one of the first weekends they've spent with each other, as they've both been on tours with their bands. He wanted to wait for the perfect moment. All her bandmates were at V Festival, and she couldn't wait to tell them. They're all really excited for her, as the rest of One Direction are for Zayn.”
