Miley Cyrus had an expletive-filled rant in front of paparazzi.

The 20-year-old singer has been raising eyebrows recently, having participated in a raunchy dance display with Robin Thicke at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Now it seems her streak of rebellious behaviour is continuing as she admits to using offensive language while being papped by photographers.

“Just called this paparazzi a ****. So before he makes breaking "news" out if it. Ill just say it. Ha-Ha #**** (sic)” she boasted on Twitter.

Miley has been working hard to shake off her clean-cut image since ending her time on Disney show Hannah Montana.

A drastic image overhaul saw the pretty star cutting off her long locks and rocking increasingly daring, skimpy outfits.

During her VMAs performance, Miley did some provocative twerking and pointed a foam finger at Robin’s crotch, all while wearing a flesh-coloured set of underwear.

She’s had back-up from the likes of Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams, who both think her dancing was a smart, attention-grabbing move.

The singer herself has also defended the raunchy routine.

"I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this play out, how many times have we seen this play out in pop music?” she told MTV.

"Madonna's done it. Britney's done it. VMA performance, anyone that performs. That's what you're looking for. You're wanting to make history."
