Iggy Azalea “cherishes” silence.

The Australian star’s biggest hits include Work and Bounce and she has been a music lover her whole life.

That said, at times she doesn’t want to listen to other artists’ work.

“When I’m relaxing, I cherish silence – because I’m a performer and have music blasted in my face 80 per cent of the day. Sometimes it’s nice to be quiet,” she told Company magazine.

When she is in the mood to crank up the stereo, Iggy often turns to some classics. There are tracks she has listened to her whole life which instantly put her in a good mood.

“Spice Girls’ Spice Up Your Life was always my favourite song to dress up to and sing along with when I was a kid. It reminds me of having fun with my sister dancing around my bedroom,” she laughed.

The 23-year-old star also has a special place in her heart for Kanye West’s track Roses. It makes her think of her family and she insists anyone who listens to the lyrics will understand why.

When it comes to her own music, she will never get enough of playing Beat Down live.

“I’ve been on tour this year and this is always the first song I sing when I get on stage. It sets the tone for the night and will always remind me of this tour,” she said.
