Justin Bieber's new song is "one of the most important" he's ever written.

Recovery is the fourth track in Justin's #MusicMondays series, where he releases a new single every Monday to his legion of fans.

The latest instalment is an acoustic R&B tune that samples British singer Craig David's 2000 hit Fill Me In and is about wanting a second chance, which holds a special place in Justin's heart.

"It's here. One of the most important songs to me I've ever written. #Recovery. Hope it helps you! (sic)" he tweeted to his 46million followers.

It's unknown if Justin's ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez is the inspiration behind the hit.

He had earlier taken to his Twitter account to ask fans to help him count down the time up until Recovery officially hit iTunes, starting at the 12 hour mark.

Craig David gave the song his seal of approval and seemed pleased the teen star has sampled one of his old tunes.

"So many great memories flood back when hearing this guitar riff. Well done @justinbieber sounding great #Recovery #FillMeIn #MusicMondays, (sic)" Craig tweeted.

Justin was in Guatemala over the weekend on his Believe Tour, and the country seemed to have a profound effect on the 19-year-old singer.

"Great talk about life tonight with the fellas. We want to give back and help the world. We want to do as much god as we can. U can too.

"Today was 1 of the most powerful and humbling days of my life. Thank u Guatemala & @PencilsOfPromis. Today I saw real happiness. So powerful (sic)," he tweeted to a charity that brings life changing education to children living in poverty.
