Justin Bieber appears to be finding solace in the words of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The 19-year-old pop star has dominated tabloid headlines in recent weeks amid allegations of drug abuse and bratty behaviour.
But Justin on Monday maintained silence about the gossip and instead chose to celebrate the memory of the late civil rights leader by quoting one of his most memorable remarks.
Posting a black-and-white photo of MLK on his Instagram account, Justin wrote: “‘The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy’ - Martin Luther King.”
Justin’s message on America’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day came hours after the singer faced fresh allegations drugs were found “strewn around” his Calabasas, California home during a police raid last Tuesday.
Authorities are investigating allegations the pop star hurled eggs at a neighbour’s home, causing $20,000 in damage.
TMZ claimed early Monday LA County Sheriff's deputies found two "large cookie jars filled with weed in plain view", as well as empty codeine bottles and bongs.
Justin's friend Xavier Smith, aka rapper Lil Za, was taken into custody for felony drug possession and has since been released.
Justin meanwhile jet to Snowmass, Colorado over the weekend amid allegations his minders are pleading with him to check into rehab.
But the star is only stirring up more controversy, with TMZ reporting he urinated in public during a snowboarding trip on Monday.
“Nearby residents looked on in disbelief,” the website claims, while Justin’s “motorcade of Escalades pulled to the side of a private road in a wealthy residential area” so he could relieve himself.
Justin allegedly “wrote” his initials in the snow.
A spokesperson for the singer has not commented on the latest accusations involving the singer’s alleged drug abuse and behaviour while in Colorado.
