Nas’ ex reportedly claims the rapper owes thousands of dollars in child support.
The Illmatic lyricist, real name Nasir Jones, is the subject of legal documents filed by Carmen Bryan, according to TMZ.
Carmen reportedly claims Nas owes her more than $11,000 in overdue payments for the care of their 19-year-old daughter, Destiny, branding him a "repeat criminal non supporter".
She also alleges he has refused to pay Destiny’s college tuition and medical bills.
TMZ claims Carmen wants Nas cited for contempt, which could lead to jail time for the rapper if a judge agrees.
In addition to Destiny, Nas also shares four-year-old son Knight with ex-wife Kelis.
The former couple married in 2005, but she filed for divorce while seven months pregnant in 2009 and the matter was finalised just over a year later.
A judge ordered Nas to pay $55,000 a month in child and spousal support to the Get Along with You singer.
The child support cases aren’t Nas’ only legal troubles.
The rapper became tangled in a $10 million lawsuit last year as a result of a concert promoter being kidnapped and held against his will in Angola for almost two months.
Patrick Allocco claimed the music artist took $300,000 for a New Year's Eve gig in the African country, but didn’t attend.
Apparently promoters from the nation held him for ransom for 50 days from December 2011.
They allegedly beat and threatened him at gunpoint until they got the funds back.
Nas claimed he didn’t show up because the promoter had breached their original contract.
He allegedly told reporters the matter was settled last spring.
