Kanye West is reportedly inviting Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and US President Barack Obama to his wedding.
The hip-hop star is gearing up for his marriage to Kim Kardashian, which will apparently take place in Paris on May 24. Although Kim, who has tied the knot twice before, has insisted the union will be low-key, Kanye apparently has other ideas.
According to British magazine Heat, he has compiled a list of 600 people he would like to invite. Among them are Prince William and his wife Catherine, as well as the US President.
Fellow rapper Jay Z and his wife Beyoncé are thought to have made the cut, following recent rumours she was unhappy the ceremony might be filmed for Kim's reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Other A-listers who could see an invite winging its way to them include Jamie Foxx, Jared Leto, will.i.am, Brandon Flowers and Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Kanye also wants royalty from Europe to come, and is hoping to see talk show queen Oprah Winfrey sitting in the pews. Other stars such as Lupita Nyong'o, Prince and Karl Lagerfeld are being courted too, it's claimed.
However, Kim is said to be concerned about the even increasing list. While she's happy to celebrate with friends and family, she would rather keep the ceremony more muted.
"Kim has told him to be realistic," a source claimed. "She thinks it's odd having strangers there. She wants it intimate - just family and close friends. She's invited Nicole Richie, Ciara, Blac Chyna, Tyga and Lindsay Lohan - but Paris Hilton is not on the list."
Another potential problem is the date, which falls at the end of the Cannes International Film Festival. It could mean many of the guests will have work commitments, but Kanye is apparently brushing those fears aside.
"He's expecting everyone to skip Cannes," the insider alleged. "When his assistants try to explain that some people aren't going to show, he won't listen. He's going to be quite shocked when the day comes and half the names aren't there."
This week it was claimed the A-list pair are hoping Mary J. Blige will perform on their big day.
