The finalists for the Voice 2014 were announced live on Saturday. The semi finals would determine which of the 8 contestants would go through to the grand final, and who would be sent home packing.
The contestants have battled through tough and enduring rounds, fighting to win over both the coaches and the general public. This stage however would be all about the votes from the viewers at home, leaving the coaches anxiously waiting to see which of their acts would make it through to the final.
Each of the contestants sang an individual solo piece and then teamed up together to perform a hotly anticipated group duet with their respective mentors Sir Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, will.i.am and Kaiser Chief’s lead singer Ricky Wilson.
Saturday’s semi final performances were as follows:-
Team Sir Tom – Sally Barker (The Waterboys – Whole of the Moon)
Team Sir Tom – Bizzi Dixon (Geroge Benson – Everything Must Change)
Team Ricky – Christina Marie (Nancy Sinatra – Bang Bang)
Team Ricky – Chris Royal (Nat King Cole – Smile)
Team Kylie – Lee Glasson (London Grammar – Strong)
Team Kylie - Jamie Johnson (Bonnie Raitt – I Can’t Make You Love Me)
Team Will – Jermain Jackman (David Guetta featuring Usher – Without You)
Team Will – Sophie May Williams (Lorde – Royals)
As the public vote closed, it was announced that the vocal powerhouse and excitable Christina Marie, the professional and emotionally singing Sally Barker, the soulful and fun-loving Jermain Jackman and cheeky male-pop vocalist Jamie Johnson received the most public votes in each of their teams, to make it through to the final. These four contestant’s dreams are being kept alive with hopes of securing the winner’s title for the Voice 2014 and will now face the final battle for the crown next Saturday live on TV.
