Kim Kardashian has been named GQ’s Woman of the Year.
The 33-year-old reality star was honoured at the GQ Men of the Year Awards at London’s Royal Opera House on Tuesday night.
Kim was accompanied to the bash by husband Kanye West, with the pair making their official red carpet debut as a married couple at the event.
Accepting her award, the penultimate of the night, Kim said: “What a huge honour to win Woman of the Year. It's so special. I want to thank my husband for making me feel like the Woman of the Year every single day.”
Prior to heading into the ceremony, Kanye was pictured on the red carpet ensuring his wife’s custom Ralph & Russo Couture gown was sitting properly.
The dress divided opinion on Twitter, with some suggesting the low-cut leather top and sheer skirt were too revealing. However, whatever people’s thoughts on the gown, there was no doubt it was an impressive outfit – with a spokesperson for Ralph & Russo Couture admitting it took a staggering five days to create.
“The look was custom-made for her, specifically for tonight’s event,” the spokesperson told HollywoodLife.com. “Kim knows exactly what she wants and she has great style, and we wanted to do something that was slightly different for her.
“We started designing it four to five days ago and it was an adaption of a catwalk piece. The team really committed and prioritised it. These pieces usually take weeks to make, but we had a quick turnaround. The skirt is entirely hand-embroidered and we had a team of four people working on it. They had to pull an all-nighter last night.”
Inside the awards, Kim and Kanye were joined on a table by Nicole Scherzinger, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams and Sam Smith, with Kim sharing a picture of the table plan on her Instagram page.
Other winners at the awards included Colin Firth, who took home the Leading Man prize, and Pharrell, who won the Solo Artist Award.
