Miley Cyrus' breakup anniversary is apparently taking its toll.
The 21-year-old singer met Liam Hemsworth on the set of The Last Song in 2009 and they began dating, announcing their engagement in June 2012. However, things came to an end in September last year.
Now it's a year on, but it seems the singer is still struggling. She posted several bizarre drawings online recently, including one of an alien with speech bubbles including phrases such as "Why does love make me cry?" and "No galaxy, planet, sun or moon compares to you". It's thought they could have been her way of reaching out to her ex.
"The first anniversary of their split has hit Miley really hard. She hasn't moved on," a source divulged to British magazine Star.
Alongside her artwork, Miley has been sharing bizarre pictures of herself in a bathtub on Instagram.
It's thought one of the things that contributed to her split from Liam was her erratic behavior. Formerly a Disney star, Miley cut her long hair short in 2012 and shocked many of her fans by speaking openly about drugs and performing on stage in tiny outfits.
But now she is apparently using her antics to try and attract her ex's attention.
"Her recent controversial behavior - the barely there outfits, partying until the early hours and posting topless photographs online - has all been a desperate bid to get Liam's attention," the insider continued.
"She thinks that by acting out he'll take notice of her again. Everything she does is a cry for attention."
