Award-winning superstar Emeli Sandé is launching a pioneering 'Community Clavinova' programme in partnership with Yamaha UK. The aim is to offer groups and organisations an opportunity to receive a brand new Clavinova completely free of charge.
The scheme launches today and closes on January 30th 2015, with people invited to submit nominations by simply visiting www.uk.yamaha.com and describing how the nominated group or organisation would benefit from the instrument. Examples of worthy causes include: local charities, village halls, retirement homes and music groups. Emeli Sandé says of the initiative, “I‘m delighted to be supporting Yamaha's exciting ‘Community Clavinova’ programme. Just send us your thoughts on why your nominee should be awarded a Clavinova and – you never know – you might just get one! I’m really looking forward to meeting the winners in London next year.”
Entries will be judged by Emeli Sandé, supported by a team including leading international promoter Harvey Goldsmith CBE, award-winning Radio 2 broadcaster Mark Radcliffe and Jazz legend, composer and bandleader Julian Joseph.
In total 20 Yamaha Clavinova Digital Pianos will be awarded, with a combined value of £30,000.
