Carlos Santana is wary of cycling after what happened to "his brother Bono".
The 67-year-old musician spends a lot of time in Las Vegas and his wife Cindy is keen for him to have a new take on the city. To that end she bought him a bike, but he can't stop thinking about the accident U2 rocker Bono was in last year. He broke his arm in six places, among other injuries, during the incident in New York City, and has said he doesn't know if he can play guitar anymore.
"My wife, Cindy, just got me a bicycle. I'm leery about trying that after what happened to brother Bono, but she said that was different because it happened in Central Park," Carlos told Billboard magazine. "In the desert you might hit a coyote, but that's it."
The star gave some other words of wisdom about coping with life in Sin City too. He's not a fan of losing money, something he thinks many others should keep in mind.
"I don't have any desire for that sensation, temptation or stimulation," he said of gambling. "I don't believe in luck, chance or fortune; I believe in grace. I'd rather invest my emotions into something which is a sure shot, which is music."
He does get involved with some typical Vegas pursuits though, namely occasionally seeing some of the stage shows. In fact, there is one in particular he can't get enough of.
"I don't see many shows, but the one I'd like to go to over and over again is Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson ONE. I've seen it three times because every person in there excels with it," he marvelled.
