The Rolling Stones will release the rare 1971 Marquee showcase gig officially next in the ‘From The Vault’ series.
The performance at the small Marquee Club, London was filmed for U.S. television just after The Stones had completed their 1971 Farewell Tour of the UK.
The Rolling Stones played the Marquee one month before the release of the ‘Sticky Fingers’ album. This gig was the first time ever ‘Brown Sugar’, ‘Dead Flowers’, ‘Bitch’ and the still rarely played ‘I Got The Blues’ were ever performed in public.
At the time The Stones line-up was Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman.
Until now very little footage of the show has been released.
The sound has been mixed by Bob Clearmountain and the footage carefully restored. The sound has been converted to 5.1 surround sound.
