Rapper Nicki Minaj has turned to superstar couple Jay Z and Beyoncé for relationship advice because they have such a strong union.
The Anaconda star, who is dating Meek Mill, fuelled rumours she is planning a wedding on Wednesday (09Dec15) after sharing a photo of her hand with a gigantic diamond ring on her wedding finger on Instagram.com.
The snap came eight months after she hit headlines by appearing to confirm she had accepted a proposal from Meek Mill when she posted a cryptic Twitter message consisting of a diamond ring emoji followed by a yellow heart and a diamond. Her rapper beau subsequently denied the reports.
The 33 year old has now opened up about her relationship in a new interview with Billboard magazine, insisting she and her man are not engaged and the massive sparklers are just gifts. She also revealed her boyfriend has assured her she will receive three rings before marriage, and they have turned to Jay Z and Beyoncé for a little guidance.
"After our show at (Brooklyn's) Barclays Center (in October), we had dinner together," she tells the publication. "They were so giving with advice. I love them so much. It was just a beautiful conversation to have with people we love and we look up to as a couple. They're so strong.
"I'd rather keep (what we spoke about) private," she continues. "I know Meek - he understood a couple things that I was explaining to him more when we spoke about it in front of them. We were all laughing so much. It was very late - you know when you get so tired, and it's just like the giggles portion of the evening?"
Minaj and Meek now share a home in Los Angeles and while she admits she is unsure of what will happen between them in the future, she is enjoying their time together.
"Shout out to everybody in the world that's just trying to find love or be happy," she adds. "Everybody should have someone to hold at night. It really, really changes your energy. I find that my energy is very different afterward - if I'm in the bed with him, just hugging him all day. It's just, like, something about love. You transfer it. It's infectious."
