Below please find details concerning a brand new initiative to support musicians whose income has dried up due to the pandemic.
Get Musicians Working was founded in June 2020 by British Conductor/Music Producer, Robert Emery.
A Royal College of Music alumni, Robert has worked with major artists such as Russell Watson, Andrea Bocelli, Meatloaf, Stewart Copeland & Damon Albarn. He has recently produced 9 no.1 albums & conducted shows in the West End, Korea, Japan, Vienna, Germany. He’s also conducted over 50 orchestras worldwide, inc. London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, Japan Philharmonic, Basel Symphony, Singapore Lyric & Vienna Radio Symphonie.
In early 2020, Robert began work on Ted’s List, an educational website project aiming to be the go-to community for anyone needing advice and information on anything related to music and musical instruments. Originally planned as an organic growth project, Robert planned to write the majority of the content himself over the coming years.
Having a large hole in his diary due to COVID-19, Robert realised a far quicker timescale for building Ted’s List could be possible achieved by enlisting other out of work musicians to do the job. So, the Get Musicians Working project was conceived to spearhead the quest to find professional musicians who could share their talent and expertise with the next generation of musicians through Ted’s List. The musicians benefit from being paid for their work and are able to focus their creative energy within their area of expertise, whilst the Ted's List audience benefit from a wealth of high quality content available in an extremely short timeframe, only possible through the Get Musicians Working project.
Robert is delighted to announce that the first official patron of Get Musicians Working is the singer-songwriter tenor, Jamie Lonsdale. Jamie first heard about the project when he employed 80 musicians to record some tracks with him at Abbey Road studios, just after the first Lockdown restrictions were lifted back in the summer.
